CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
You are invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the upcoming National Association of Nigerian
Nurses in North America (NANNNA) 9th Annual Scientific Conference: " Global Health Priorities:
Building Partnerships for a Healthy and Sustainable Global Village” being held November 8-11, 2018,
at Westchester Marriott Hotel, 670 White Plains Rd, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
Abstracts will be considered for podium and poster presentations at the conference. Abstracts will be selected that best highlight any of the sub-themes listed below based on research, current trends, and evidence-based practice. Abstracts should clearly specify how the work contributes to the current state of science and global health. Areas of special interest should reflect the conference theme. (Only abstracts for completed research/projects will be considered for podium presentation. Abstracts for
“research/projects in progress may be submitted for poster presentation only).
o Leadership and Collaborative approaches to Global Health Challenges
o Improving global health through Education and Technology
o Improving global workforce crisis
o Policy and politics in global health
o Global Health Opportunities for Advanced Practice Nursing Students and Graduates
o Global Volunteerism for community health improvement
o Violence: Global health issue
Emergency preparedness at the community level
o Addressing communicable disease epidemics
o Chronic diseases management at community level
Building partnerships and investing in innovative solutions
o Innovative solutions to maternal and child health
Future of Nursing: Leading change, advancing health
o Nursing role in UN Sustainable Developmental Goals
o Knowledge transfer: Bridging gaps
ABSTRACT/POSTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Abstracts should contain the following information: Title, Author(s), Credentials and Affiliations, Background/Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion.
All selected authors will complete an Activity Planning Grid and a Conflict of Interest/Biographic data form for their abstracts to be published and presented.
Authors may indicate their preference for abstracts to be considered for Poster or Oral presentation, however, final determination will be made by NANNNA Abstract Review Committee.
All accepted Posters should be of Standard Size (36×48 inches) on white background and conform to above description.
The body of abstracts should be 300 words or less.

Successful applicants will be notified on or before July 1, 2018.
All presenters must register for the conference in order to present their abstract.
Please note: Registration fee does not include hotel and travel costs. Participants need to make their own visa, hotel and travel arrangements.
